Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 17, 2026

Welcome to Life Compass. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the Life Compass application ("Service").

CRITICAL NOTICE: Life Compass is a personal, "as-is" hobby project developed by Vilohit. It is not an enterprise product. By using this Service, you explicitly acknowledge and agree to the data handling practices outlined below, and you waive any claims against the developer regarding data privacy, security, or compliance.

1. Information Collection and Storage

Local & Self-Managed Data

Life Compass is designed as a personal tracking tool. Any data you enter into the Service—including but not limited to habits, logs, personal metrics, and journal entries—is stored strictly according to the architecture of the Service (e.g., local storage within your browser or a linked, developer-managed database).

No Sensitive PII Request

The Service does not actively request Highly Sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as Social Security Numbers, financial data, or protected health information (PHI). You are strictly prohibited from entering highly sensitive data into this Service.

2. No Security Guarantee

Zero Liability for Data Breaches

While reasonable, standard development practices are used, this Service is provided without enterprise-grade security auditing or compliance certifications. There is absolutely no guarantee of data security. By using Life Compass, you acknowledge that the internet and digital storage are inherently insecure. In the event of a data breach, unauthorized access, server failure, or data leak, Vilohit holds $0.00 liability. You bear 100% of the risk for any data you choose to store within the Service.

3. Data Ownership and Deletion

You retain ownership of the content you create. However, because this is an unmanaged hobby project:

  • I reserve the right to wipe, delete, or reset databases at any time without prior warning.
  • I am not responsible for providing data exports or recovering lost, deleted, or corrupted data.
  • If you wish to remove your data, you must use the deletion features provided within the app (if available). Manual data deletion requests via email may not be honored or processed in a timely manner.

4. Third-Party Services

The Service may rely on third-party infrastructure (e.g., hosting providers, database providers like Vercel, Supabase, or Firebase). Your data may be processed by these third parties in order to operate the Service. Vilohit assumes no responsibility or liability for the privacy practices, data breaches, or terms of any third-party services utilized by the Service.

5. Non-Compliance with Global Privacy Frameworks

GDPR / CCPA Disclaimer

Life Compass is a personal hobby project and does not claim compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), or any other global privacy framework. If you require compliance with these regulations, you must cease using this Service immediately.

6. Children's Privacy

This Service is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. I do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you are under 18, do not use this Service.

7. Changes to this Policy

I reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time, at my sole discretion, without prior notice. Continued use of Life Compass after any changes constitutes your explicit acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.

8. Contact & Legal Action Waiver

By using this Service, you agree that any disputes regarding privacy or data handling will be resolved under the terms of the Zero Liability clause outlined in the Terms of Service. You explicitly waive the right to pursue class-action lawsuits or financial compensation regarding data privacy matters against Vilohit.
